Check field roles before reusing a document
A reusable sending template still needs review for the actual document and recipient. Keep this check private; role labels are enough and no signer details need to be entered here. Keep an adequate existing or free tool when it meets the job.
| Check | Before sending |
|---|---|
| Signer role | Confirm which role completes each field; do not assume that copying a template assigns the right person. |
| Field purpose | Check what each field asks for and whether its label is clear. |
| Required or optional | Review which fields must be completed and which can be left blank. |
| Version and pages | Confirm the intended document version and inspect every page before sending. |
This preflight does not establish recipient acceptance, legal adequacy, API access or a Business-plan entitlement.
From agreement to signed copy
- PrepareUpload a suitable document in the provider’s service or check its supported imports. A template is a starting point, not legal review.
- Set the signing stepsAdd fields and signers, choose an order when needed, and review before sending.
- Follow progressCheck request status and send a reminder. Edit & Resend returns the document to draft and removes collected signatures; use it when the document needs changing.
- Keep your recordsSave the signed document and its audit trail; keep both files if separate.
The Independent Audit Trail setting is Business-only and affects future documents. Ordinary audit records are not Business-only. Keep unmodified downloads: Signaturely warns that its print-to-PDF removal method drops signature metadata.
Listed imports include Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive and Box. Importing documents does not establish continuous two-way synchronization.
Before uploading sensitive agreements, confirm what team members and admins can access, plus the provider’s retention and deletion rules.
