The lower displayed Fedex Intl Connect rate ($12.99 at 1 lb; $16.50 at 2 lb) explicitly said consolidation not available. Its one-parcel quote cannot price combining two orders. The chosen FedEx Economy estimate allowed up to 50 packages with free bundling, subject to account and shipment terms.

One box can have more billable weight than two
In this hypothetical example, the same goods travel separately or in one larger outer box. Assume dimensional weight equals volume divided by 5,000 cm³/kg, and each parcel’s greater actual or dimensional weight rounds up to the next whole kilogram. These are fictional calculation rules, not a carrier quote.

The modeled billable quantity rises from 4 to 6 kg while actual weight stays at 4 kg. This does not establish a higher freight bill: rates, parcel minimums, surcharges and handling can change the result. Do not multiply a freight quote by the weight ratio.
Use the actual service’s measurement, divisor and rounding rules, then obtain matching separate and combined quotes. Unknown used freight, receiving, repacking, storage, membership, protection or destination charges remain unpriced. Keep required protective or return packaging. Direct retailer delivery or an adequate existing arrangement remains an alternative; consolidation is optional.
From delivered parcel to onward shipment
A carrier’s delivery scan is the first step. Shipito checks the parcel into your account before you can review it and arrange the next shipment.
Shipito’s FAQ allows up to two US business days after arrival for a package to appear in the account. Missing or mismatched suite details can delay matching and add content-photo and customs-declaration charges.

Return it before forwarding?
Free warehouse storage does not extend the seller’s return window. Before waiting for another order or combining boxes, decide whether a wrong item should go back to the seller from the receiving warehouse.
Check while it is still at the warehouse
Confirm the seller’s deadline, whether it means dispatch or receipt, authorization and label rules. Request a supported inspection or photos early; exterior photos do not prove fit, function or contents.
Ask the forwarder about the exact warehouse’s return handling, processing time, permitted label and charges. A seller-paid label does not establish free warehouse handling.
Two clocks, one decision
Illustration, not a provider promise: the seller must receive the return by day 20. You budget 5 days for warehouse handling plus return transit, so the return request and label need to be ready by day 15.
Waiting for a second order on day 18 misses that budget even if storage is still free. Return now, forward separately or accept the risk only after checking the seller’s actual terms; no extension or refund is assumed.
Shipito’s published process distinguishes a seller-provided prepaid return label from a return sent as a normal shipment without one. Handling and freight differ; confirm the current account and route before ordering a return. Forwarding overseas first can add another journey, customs questions and time.

Suppose separate shipments total $40.00, one combined shipment $25.00, and combining adds $5.00. The per-shipment difference is $10.00. An extra $50.00 membership payment is recovered after 5 comparable shipments. With 6 such shipments, the net difference is $10.00.
These are explicit illustrative amounts, not live carrier rates or a prediction of merchant savings. If packaging, goods, carrier service or separate-shipment handling differs, obtain matching quotes. A negative per-shipment difference cannot pay back a positive membership.

Combining parcels: choose the packaging you need to keep
Shipito distinguishes keeping outer boxes, keeping retail packaging and packing products only. Removing boxes changes protection, return readiness and final dimensions. Consolidation requires eligible parcels at the same warehouse and declarations for each; it is charged per input parcel in addition to receiving/processing.
Request useful contents photos before consolidation. Photos do not test whether an item works. Compare receiving, combining and final freight together: fewer boxes alone does not establish a saving. Keep original packaging if your return or protection needs it.

Shipito’s Assisted Purchase adds purchasing charges before warehouse handling, freight and customs. Its public fee page lists $8.50 per ten items from the same retailer, a 4.3% processing charge and an 8% shopper service charge. These are customer charges, not our commission on merchandise. Verify the order’s fee bases, stock, payment and return conditions.
Already bought the goods? Consolidation combines packages into a packed shipment. Shipito’s current FAQ lists $5.50 per incoming package on Free and $3.25 on Premium, additional to processing. A smaller box can help, but the final freight, contents and packing quote determines whether combining saves money.
