Compare virtual business address options for an LLC or home business. Plan correspondence and public contact details; check legal and physical roles separately.
A virtual business address is a mailing option for business correspondence and suitable public contact details. Check each LLC form, physical-location field and registered-agent role separately.
Choose an accepted address for each field. A mailing address does not replace every physical or legal role.
Choose each address for its actual job.
A separate, authorized mailing address can keep your home off future contact pages, invoices and suitable return labels. A virtual mailbox receives physical mail so you can manage it online. It does not erase public records, establish residence or replace every required physical address.
Before you publish: five address checks
List each use. Website, invoices, commercial email, returns, tax correspondence, entity filings and identity checks can ask for different address roles.
Match the receiving name. Confirm your sole-owner/DBA or company name on the exact mailbox product. Extra recipients are different from staff logins and private access.
Separate physical and legal fields. IRS SS-4 separates mailing correspondence (4a–4b) from a different physical street location (5a–5b). North Carolina LLC articles separately identify executing persons, registered office/agent and principal office where applicable. These are form/jurisdiction examples, not national mailbox acceptance.
Check seller returns separately. Confirm accepted goods, carriers, storage, handling and return charges. Review public shop details, label exposure and private identity verification independently.
Activate before redirecting senders. Complete the operator’s receiving/identity steps and use the issued PMB format. Budget setup, subscription, used scans/handling, postage, renewal and exit; confirm the first arrivals.
Sole owner, freelancer or new LLC: contact pages and invoices
Compare ordinary business mail and scans below. Keep the operating/residential address, appointed agent and institution-specific checks separate.
Seller or creator contact and returns
For commercial newsletter footers, the FTC postal-address rule permits a qualifying registered PO/private mailbox. This does not establish acceptance on invoices, filings or verification forms. A returns address needs actual parcel support. Etsy’s US seller-info help has a home-address display exception; it does not mean every seller exposes a home or can use a mailbox for verification.
Existing property-holding company
A company may need a separate correspondence destination; check the exact receiving name and sender’s accepted field. A mailbox changes neither title nor recorded ownership. Do not buy formation to solve an ordinary mail problem.
Local collection or little paper mail
A local postal/private box, paperless notices or an agreed helper may suffice. Pay for remote scans only if they solve a real access need.

Consider ordinary business correspondence and requested scans, with an authorized company name. Check selected-plan recipient fees and account access; a receiving name is not a private staff inbox. A standard mailbox is separate from its specialist address/document products.

Consider a sole owner who wants scanned letters and a document-export workflow. Basic at Sanford is a monthly starting point; check names and actual scan use. Avoid assuming walk-in pickup, every intake address or postage is included.
PhysicalAddress offers a useful comparison when local collection matters; confirm the exact center and tier. A nearby PO/private box or paperless delivery may solve a simpler job. These starting points are editorial selections; the cost/fit tools compare independently of commissions.

Service renews prepaid. Cancel before the next term; current-cycle fees are not prorated. Export scans and fund final forwarding before closing. Terms limit refunds of account credits and allow remaining physical mail to be discarded after the closeout window.

Confirm receiving names and scan allowances for your chosen plan and address, the renewal price, any credits, and final forwarding or shipping charges.
Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically. Terms reject new-order and renewal refunds; cancel before renewal through the account/payment route. A six-month post-close forwarding window incurs per-piece and shipping charges, so it is not free active-mail service.
Limits to check
Conflicting extra-recipient amounts; Annual checkout cash confirmation; External notary fee; Provider-check-deposit capability; Old 90-day versus current 30-day storage Annual cash remains a reference pending checkout/source-conflict verification; monthly calculation is available.

Confirm your plan’s receiving names, private-access permissions and renewal price. Viewer fees remain unresolved: reviewed sources differ between $7 and $7.50. Confirm the reviewed $25 tier rather than relying on older $20 starting-price wording.
Subscriptions auto-renew; termination is requested by email. Downgrades generally take effect next term. Refunds are conditional and requested, not automatic; annual prepaid cost is not safely prorated for a short trip. Custom service advertises dedicated assistance; standard response hours are unverified.
Limits to check
Unspecified forwarding transaction fee; Setup/notary; Annual checkout cash; Package retention 15 versus 30 days; Grow paid-seat cap wording; Detailed private user/owner access. Annual cash remains a reference pending checkout/source-conflict verification; monthly calculation is available.

Legacy help distinguishes no-fee close-and-shred from optional paid six-month account access, which still incurs mail/forwarding charges. Reopening and mailroom-specific terms may differ. A mail address, office facilities, registered agent and formation are different products. No listed address guarantees bank, government, licensing, platform or residential acceptance.
A business name, an entity and a signer are different
Check the exact product’s approved personal, company and trading names before combining mail. A receiving-name allowance does not settle the business officer, a pickup person, dashboard actions or privacy from the primary holder. Keep the specialist job and entity count you actually need; ordinary correspondence does not appoint an agent or create an entity.
A separate business comparison can have a different job, entity count, user requirement and quote. A household receiving-name count does not select or price that service.
Trading-name rules can differ by product
iPostal1 US mailbox
The personal plan excludes business names. Its business/office plans can receive personal mail plus one business name; the FAQ directs a second business to a second mailbox. Its family dashboard keeps primary-holder oversight. Canadian DBA exceptions do not establish a US allowance; confirm a US trading name with the exact center.
Alliance Virtual Offices is a distinct example: its DBA help requires a separate notarized Form 1583 for each additional DBA, allows a possible extra charge and says some locations do not allow DBAs. This is a provider/location rule, not a universal USPS rule or a priced allowance for every office.
Authorization sources checked October 20, 2026. Keep actual names, IDs and documents in the selected provider’s private workflow.

Privacy starts with the right address role
Freelancers, home businesses, sellers and creators can use a business-authorized mailing contact where the actual provider, recipient name and intended use permit it. A shared receiving-name allowance does not create separate/private dashboard access.
Correspondence or public contact
Compare authorized business names, scans, carriers and original handling. A PO box may suffice when you can collect locally. Follow the issued box/PMB format.
Check actual goods, carrier arrivals, parcel volume, storage and return/reshipment fees. An advertised letter address does not prove seller-return suitability.
Read the actual state/form’s requirements. A compliant registered agent and registered office are distinct from ordinary mail. Buying formation does not solve every address requirement.
Banks and platforms set their own identifying-address and evidence requirements. A mailbox is not a residential address, proof of residency or guarantee of acceptance.
Saving keeps your inputs on this browser; reopening uses current published facts. JSON restores inputs; reports keep the explanation. Share links omit private quote labels and documents.
Mail, registered agent or formation?
Mail, registered agent or formation?
An existing business that needs correspondence does not need to buy formation. An appointed registered agent handles legal process, while ordinary business mail, an office lease and telephone reception have their own scopes. Choose the required job first.
What to confirmState fees and later companion obligations
The selected formation service advertises the first registered-agent year as included. Its $39.00 · one-time formation service fee is a formation charge; the retained agent’s later $125.00 / annual is a separate companion obligation. State filing, reports, tax and other used services are still additional. Do not add a second standalone agent charge to the included first year or treat the later agent fee as formation renewing.
Company already exists; mail is the problem
Compare scan-only correspondence with physical forwarding and the current mailbox alternatives. Only an actual office/document or facility requirement justifies the additional office product.
Keep the one-time filing service, the current legal agent and state obligations in separate first-year and renewal rows. Change an appointed agent through the required process before ending that service.
Also inspect other agent/formation products in the business comparison. Their included years, renewal prices and state requirements differ. A mailbox or a personally usable address is not automatically a legal-agent product.
Original factual comparison. No firsthand mailbox, office, identity session or shipment was tested. Search demand and buyer conversion have not been measured. Choose the exact product, address and current accepted terms.
Starting a US business from abroad
Starting a US business from outside the US
First decide whether you need correspondence for an existing entity, an appointed registered agent or formation of a new entity. An office address, phone plan and registered-agent appointment are distinct products; none establishes residence, bank acceptance or tax treatment.
Choose the receiving state and exact product for the real job; state filing fees and continuing agent obligations stay separate.
Confirm enrollment from your country, accepted officer authorization and identity process. Do not enter IDs here.
Obtain the institution’s requirement for this exact address and product before buying for banking, licensing or a platform.
A receiving address can keep future correspondence separate from your home contact address. It does not replace a required physical/residential address, change a legal filing or erase old people-search copies. Use the two-sheet address-role checklist to separate these jobs; no home address or ID needs to be entered here.
Start with free manual steps
Use the FTC’s guidance to identify the people-search site’s own opt-out process.
Follow that site’s request and verification instructions directly; share only what the process genuinely requires.
Keep confirmation and dates privately, then recheck for reappearance.
Do not send identity documents or home details to MailboxCompare. Review the official operator’s privacy and verification terms before submitting sensitive information.
Incogni displays Standard $95.88/year and Unlimited $179.88/year for the specific annual offers. Confirm exact country, person, plan, currency and tax. Crossed-out marketing prices do not establish renewal cash.
DeleteMe’s retrieved plan page confirms US-resident standard plans, annual/two-year structures and auto-renewal, but numeric current prices did not render: get the actual quote. Do not substitute an old help-page amount.
Broker counts are not standardized removal outcomes. Paid help and manual opt-outs cannot guarantee deletion, prevent reappearance or erase government/property records. Check which specific records and jurisdictions are covered.
Official customer-source review: October 24, 2026. This is independent published-source analysis, not firsthand provider testing or a quality certification. Existing mailbox tariffs retain their own review dates. Ordinary customer links do not establish publisher compensation.
